Basic Invite is a new name (for me) to the wedding invitation game, so I thought I would check them out.
For starters, their website is lovely! I can’t get enough of a well designed website, and the fact that it is incredibly easy to navigate, is icing on the cake. Then there are the actual invitations: there’s TONS of options! Over 800 sets, which means matching Save the Dates, menu cards, programs, and even thank you cards! And once you choose the design you want, every single color IN the design is customizable: text, background, banners, flowers…with a live preview! It’s a really slick interface, and the ability to personalize everything, down to the tiniest detail, really blew me away. I had a lot of fun ordering the samples…
And speaking of samples… for just a couple of bucks, you can order the design you want (invitation, Save the Date, menu, etc), ALL fully customized, before you place your entire order!
My samples arrived within 4-5 days. I was immediately impressed by the quality – the appearance, thickness, and weight of the products. They look really high-end, and I love the paper options they offer. Apart from standard signature matte, they have a thicker stock, coated, luxury velvet, and premium shimmer. The luxe velvet is silky smooth (suede-like), but I am particularly fond of the premium shimmer choice! It has the prettiest sheen to it, and sends just the right amount of classy vibes.

Not a fan of standard white envelopes? Well, you can select from one of the (over 40) other colors available – including a few shimmery shades (Cardinal red shimmer? Onyx? Yes please!).
Basic Invite also offers some great additions to your wedding day needs, apart from paper goods. They have personalized, lay-flat wedding guest books, that make beautiful keepsakes, as well as free mobile-ready wedding websites, with the same customization options as their invite sets. So you can make it match, or mix it up!
There really is something for every style and taste – from modern, to minimal, and rustic, to romantic … they’ve got it all!
I said “I do” 6 years ago (woo!), and at the time, there wasn’t a company that offered this kind of variety, this kind of customization, or this kind of peace of mind (before you drop the dough). So it you’re a bride-to-be, on the hunt for the perfect paper goods, lucky you, it exists now!
